The problem
You frame for YouTube and someone asks for a vertical cut. You frame vertical and the wide shot is gone. The crop gets baked in at the moment you are least able to think about it, and it cannot be undone.
What Takes does
It records the full sensor frame every time. On-screen guides show where the landscape and vertical crops will fall, so you can frame a take that survives either. The choice is written into the file as metadata for your editor, and the pixels outside the crop are still there when the brief changes.
