Email

A Sparrow-class Gmail client that's insanely fast

Email is a Gmail client in the spirit of Sparrow: one fast, focused window for your mail on Mac, iPhone, and iPad. Everything you see comes from a local database on your device, so the inbox opens instantly, search returns before you finish typing, and archiving a message never waits on a spinner.

Search 100,000 messages in 25 ms

Everything is local SQLite. Nothing waits on the network.

Fast is the feature

Your mail lives in a local SQLite file, and every screen reads from it directly. Full-text search answers in 25 milliseconds at the median on a 100,000-message mailbox. Archive, star, label, delete: each action commits locally the same frame you trigger it, then replays to Gmail through a durable queue, so the app never makes you wait for the network.

Hackable to the bone

Your mail is yours, in a documented SQLite schema you can open with any tool. Insert a row into the pending_op table and the app performs it, so scripts can archive, label, and send. Hook scripts run on mail and UI events, and App Intents put your mail in Shortcuts and Spotlight.
