A resolution I want isn't listed. Where is it?
Displays shows the modes your monitor advertises, including HiDPI variants. If a mode is missing, your display or its connection (cable, adapter, dock) doesn't offer it to macOS.
What happens to my settings when I quit?
Displays automatically restores your original resolution, refresh rate, and wallpaper when you quit. That's the auto-revert feature. Save a preset if you want a configuration to come back later.
Can I set a plain background for screencasts?
Yes. Set a solid color wallpaper on any display from within the app; your real wallpaper comes back when you quit.
Does Displays work with multiple monitors?
Yes. Every connected display can be configured independently, and presets capture the whole arrangement.
